The Lucayan Beach Treasure is linked to the capture of the 1628 Spanish Fleet by the Dutch pirate Peit Heyn. No one knows what happened to the ships or their men, but the silver pieces of eight ended up on the beach at Grand Bahamas Island. Most of the coins that have ben found were minted in Mexico under the rule of the king of Spain. These coins were hand struck of 93% fine silver, and can truly be called pirate’s treasure
